A woman sat across from me and said: "I don't understand why the same thing keeps happening to me in relationships. My mother experienced it, my grandmother too." She had already done a great deal of inner work — therapy, books, meditation. And yet the pattern returned, quiet and persistent. As a keeper of Andean energy medicine, I encounter moments like this often.
What she described is not a personal weakness. It is a thread running through her family that continues to act in her own life. What Ancestral Work Really Is Ancestral work means examining the connection to one's forebears consciously. Not romantically, not idealizingly — but honestly, with clear eyes on what has been passed down through generations: unresolved traumas, silent agreements, recurring relationship patterns.
In the tradition I stand in, this work is not an add-on. It belongs to the core of healing practice. Because a person's energy field does not only carry their own life — it carries the lineage from which they come. Healing Is the Cleansing of the Field Ancestral healing does not mean changing the past.
That is impossible, and it is not the point. What can change is the effect of that past in the present energy field. In my practice I work with letters, with rituals, with targeted energy work on the field. Each method has its own strength.
What matters is which one the person needs in this moment. When a pattern becomes truly visible for the first time, something new arises: freedom of choice. Not through willpower, but through awareness. When This Work Calls Ancestral work often becomes relevant when you recognize recurring life patterns you cannot explain.
When you carry the sense of dragging something along that is not entirely yours. When healing on the personal level reaches limits that must lie deeper. Then it is time to look into the lineage from which you come. What I Offer In my work — both in individual sessions and in the training in Andean energy medicine — ancestral work is a foundational element.
Theory and lived practice go hand in hand. This path is not linear. It unfolds layer by layer, in your own rhythm. And with each layer, more freedom becomes tangible — not only for you, but for all who come after you.
